Our Team

Our team comprises members from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds, each bringing a unique perspective to our collaborative efforts. Together, we are dedicated to ending domestic violence and addressing issues related to women and children in Gujarat.

 

Vidyut Joshi

He is a renowned social scientist, who served as the former Vice-Chancellor of Bhavnagar University. A prolific scholar, he has authored over forty five books and published numerous research papers. As a founding trustee of ISAR, he has played a pivotal role in our institute’s growth. Moreover, he has immensely contributed to ISAR’s research work, and he currently leads a proposed project investigating the socio-economic conditions and potential employment opportunities for the people opportunities for the people of Vagad.

Jayshree Joshi

She is a founding member of our organization, and brings a wealth of knowledge in Library and Information Science, Sociology, and Economics. After a distinguished career spanning over two decades as a government librarian, she co-founded ISAR with a mission to empower and educate women. A lifelong advocate for education, she has tirelessly promoted scientific literacy, literature appreciation, and the cultivation of reading habits across people of all age groups. Though now retired, her dedication continues as she actively helps manage ISAR’s five libraries in Kutch.

Chinmayee (Sejal) Joshi

As ISAR’s Managing Trustee and Director, Sejal wears many hats, acting as a Senior Social Counselor, Trainer, Project Head, and Consultant for various national and international organizations. She has a background in Physics and Computer Science, however for over two decades her work has focused on domestic violence, women’s empowerment, gender equality, and child labor. She plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between government bodies, international human rights organizations, politicians, local leaders, and the people of Vagad.

Devvrat Bhatt

As a distinguished scholar in marine sciences and botany, and the former Head of the Marine Science Department at Bhavnagar University, he has made significant scientific contributions, and facilitated numerous research projects. As a Board Member, he brings unique expertise to ISAR, where he actively engages with students and researchers, delving into the unique biogeographic properties of the Vagad region.

Harsha Bhatt

As ISAR’s Board Member, she is a passionate advocate for ending violence against women and promoting social justice. She played a pivotal role in ISAR’s early initiatives, such as establishing microfinance programs for women and children’s savings banks.

Chinmay Baxi

Chinmay has a background in IT and Information Systems, with a doctoral degree from Ganpat University. As ISAR’s Board Member, Chinmay, actively helps us with technological advancement as and when required.

Shivji Sandha

Shivji, a member of one of the local communities of Vagad, and also a Board Member of ISAR, brings a unique and valuable local perspective to our team. His decade-long association with ISAR has made him a key bridge between our organization and the communities we work with. Although his background is in business and mining industries, Shivji is a social leader in Vagad, who actively champions positive change by collaborating with NGOs, government bodies, and local leaders. His commitment is further exemplified by his generous donation in 2014 of one acre of land for the ISAR-Rapar campus and Maru Ghar.

Mona Thakore

Mona, a Member of ISAR’s Advisory Committee, has been a long-standing supporter of all our initiatives, and currently plays an extremely crucial role in our team as a Fundraising Coordinator.

Nasim Baloch

Nasim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and has over fourteen years of dedicated experience in addressing issues concerning women and children in Kutch. She is a member of the local community, and stands as one of the oldest collaborators affiliated with ISAR. Presently, she serves as ISAR-Rapar Coordinator, and works across multiple initiatives of our organization. She plays a crucial role in Maru Ghar, and in our collaborative work with UNICEF-Gujarat.

Khoda Parmar

Having been born, raised, and educated in Rapar, he brings a distinctive viewpoint to our team. He is one of the youngest people on our team, which particularly helps in facilitating connections with adolescents in Rapar. Initially joining ISAR as a Librarian over six years ago, he has since ascended to the position of managing the ISAR-Rapar campus, playing a pivotal role in logistical operations across multiple projects.

Meena Meriya

Meena, hails from Rapar, and has a background in Gujarati Literature and Social Work. She has been working with ISAR since last year, as a Cluster Resource Person, in the project we are jointly running with UNICEF-Gujarat. She strongly believes in empowering adolescent girls so they can achieve autonomy in decision making.

Sandeep Gohil

Sandeep is from a village near Rapar, and has a diverse background and previous work experiences. At ISAR, however, he works as a Cluster Resource Person, and works on issues like gender discrimination, sexual harassment, and empowering adolescent boys and girls.

Pradip Gohil

Pradip, a resident of Rapar, has completed his bachelors in arts, and has previous experience in sales. He is the newest member of our team, and has joined us as a Cluster Resource Person, in our child protection program.

Anjali Gautam

Anjali, our youngest team member, has completed her higher secondary education, and she’s currently taking a gap year before commencing her university studies. As a Library Manager, her role includes, encouraging people to become members of our libraries, and organizing and categorizing books within the library.
